Tassilo de la Torre · Atlas

Atlas · a small studio for long journeys

Your journey, drawn on the real planet.

Drop the GPX from your watch, your bike computer or your phone. It lands on satellite imagery and real terrain, on a globe you can spin and tilt. Then take it home: a signed fine-art print for the wall, a page you can send to a sponsor, or a cinematic flythrough of the whole route.

Open the studio · free See what you get

Free forever: upload, look, and download a 2000 px poster. Nothing leaves your browser — the file is read on your own machine, never uploaded to a server.

The studio

Drop a track. Watch it land.

What you can buy

Four things, all made from one file.

Talk it through

Prices include VAT where applicable and are quoted in euros. Prints and films are made to order, so I take a look at every file before I confirm — if a track is too rough to make something beautiful from, I say so before you pay.

How it works

File in, object out.

01

Drop the track

Export a GPX from Strava, Komoot, Garmin Connect, Gaia or whatever recorded the journey. Drop it into the studio above and set the title, the look and the framing yourself.

02

Tell me what you want

Print, page, film or a brand build. You send me the file and the framing you liked; I confirm the price and how long it takes, before anything is paid.

03

I make it properly

The final render is not the browser preview: full-resolution terrain, hand-graded imagery, typography set by hand. Prints go out signed and numbered, with a tree planted for each one.

Who this is for

Journeys worth hanging on a wall.

The one big trip

The Camino, the Alps traverse, a summer down a river, a first long tour. One journey you will still be talking about in twenty years, on paper, at the right size.

Expedition athletes

You need something to put in front of a brand. A page with your route, your photographs and your sponsors on it does more than a deck ever will.

Brands, races, operators

You sell a route. Show it on the real mountain instead of a flat grey line, on your own domain, updated while the event is running.

Questions

The practical part.

Which files can I drop in?

GPX (tracks and routes) and GeoJSON, which covers essentially every watch, bike computer and planning app. FIT and KML I convert by hand for now — send them to me by email and I will deal with them. Files with several tracks or segments are drawn as one journey.

Is my track uploaded anywhere?

No. The studio reads the file inside your browser; it never leaves your machine and there is no account and no database. If you order something, you send me the file yourself, by email, and I keep it only as long as the job takes.

Why is the free download only 2000 px?

Because a browser cannot render terrain and satellite imagery at print resolution, and because a screenshot is not a print. When you order, I re-render the same framing at 300 dpi on my own machine, grade it, and set the type by hand.

How long does it take?

Prints: five to ten working days from confirmation, plus shipping. Pages: about a week. Films: ten working days. During an expedition of my own it can be slower, and I will tell you before you pay rather than after.

Can I use the poster commercially?

The free download is for personal use — social posts, your own blog, printing at home. Commercial use, sponsor decks, advertising and anything a brand pays for is covered by the Page, Film and Brand products, which come with the rights written down.

What about the imagery and the elevation data?

The studio preview uses Esri World Imagery and the open Terrain Tiles elevation dataset, credited on the map. Anything I deliver commercially is rendered from imagery I hold a commercial licence for, so what you buy is clean to use.

Where does the tree come from?

Every print plants one native tree, planted by hand in the highlands of Guadalajara, Spain, and you get the coordinates. The whole story is here.

Order

Tell me what to make.

Fill this in and it opens an email to me with your framing and your route figures already filled in. Attach your GPX to that email. I answer every one myself, usually within a day.
